Group Paging

What you need to know

The group paging service allows a user to set up a one-way call to a group of up to 75 target users by dialing a single number or extension. Multiple paging groups can be set up for different departments or teams.

For example, if a grocery store manager needs to relay a message to the entire deli department, all of the deli employees can be added to a single group. That way, when the manager has an announcement or needs to reach the department, the group paging service is available to reach the group by dialing one number or extension.

Feature prerequisites

The group paging feature is set up and managed by your administrator who defines the group paging phone number, originators, and targets (also known as recipients) of the group page. If you’re an administrator, learn more how to configure group paging for your organization here.

As a user, before you get started, you need to know what the phone number and/or extension is, who the originators are, and who the targets are.

Help Topics

A. How do I page a group using the group paging service?

If you are an originator in a paging group, follow these steps to perform a group page:

  1. Dial the phone number or extension of the paging group.
  2. You hear a message stating that the paging system is ready, and the target users (recipients) hear a message notifying them that a page is coming through.
  3. After these messages, all further communication through your phone is relayed through the speakerphone of the targets’ phones.
  4. When you are finished with your announcement, hang up the phone to end the page.
