A. The Basics
Home screen
Includes softkey shortcut keys and favorites. Softkeys on your Home screen may differ, depending on your configuration.
Lines screen
Displays assigned lines and favorite contacts.
Meetings screen
Displays today’s meetings (if enabled).

Message Waiting Indicator
Flashes red to indicate you have an incoming call or a new message.
Touchscreen
- CCX 400 & 500: Select items and navigate menus on the touch-sensitive screen.
- CCX 600 & 700: Select items and navigate menus on the touch-sensitive screen. Tap the screen to select and highlight screen items. To scroll, touch the screen and swipe your finger up, down, right or left.
Volume keys
Adjust the volume of the handset, headset, speaker and ringer.
USB port(s)
Attach a USB flash drive or USB headset.
- CCX 400: includes one USB-A port.
- CCX 500, 600 & 700: include one USB-A and one USB-C port.
- CCX 600 Only: You can connect an EagleEye Mini USB camera to the USB-A port.
Headset indicator
Displays when the phone is powered on. The icon glows green or blue when a headset is connected and activated.
Speakerphone indicator
Displays when the phone is powered on. The icon glows green when activated.
Speaker
Provides ringer and speakerphone audio output.
Mute key
Mue or unmute the microphone during an active call.
Camera Port (CCX 600)
Enables you to attach an option Polycom Eagleeye Mini USB camera.
Application Command (CCX 600 & 700)
Displays when the phone is powered on and the service is available. Icon may vary.
Privacy Shutter (CCX 700)
Allows you to cover the camera lens.
Built-in Camera (CCX 700)
Enables you to send video during a video-enabled call.
Camera LED (CCX 700)
Turns green when the camera is on and sending video. Turns amber when you are not sending video.
Softkeys
Softkeys are context sensitive, meaning they change depending on the current activity.
B. Placing and Receiving Calls
Placing Calls
You can place and answer calls using the handset, headset, or speakerphone.
To place a call:
- On the home screen, select Place a Call.
- Select Menu > Place a Call.
- Pick up the handset, press the headphone icon, or press the speakerphone icon.
- Enter a number or select onscreen keyboard to enter an IP address.
- Select Dial. Call will be placed.
To place a call from Recent Calls:
- From the Home screen or Place a Call screen, select Recent Calls.
- Select a contact. Call will be placed.
Redial Calls
- Do one of the following:
- Select Redial.
- Go to Place a Call > Recent Calls, and select the first number in the list.
Receiving Calls
- To answer an incoming call, select Answer on the incoming call screen.
- When you answer a call while on another call, the first call will be put on hold. To resume the held call, select Resume.
C. In-Call Functions
Hold
- During an active call, select Hold.
- To resume do one of the following:
- Select Resume
- From the Calls screen, select the call and then select Resume.
Mute
- Select the Mute key to mute your audio so the other parties cannot hear you. To unmute, select the Mute key again.
D. Transferring Calls
Blind Transfer
- During a call, select Transfer.
- Dial a number or select a contact from Recent Calls or Contacts. The call transfers as soon as the recipient’s line connects.
Consulted Transfer
- During a call, select Consult. The active call will be placed on hold.
- Dial a number or select a contact from Recent Calls or Contacts.
- When the recipient answers, announce the call and then select Complete Transfer to transfer the call.
Direct to Voicemail Transfer
To conduct a Direct-to-Voicemail Transfer, while on an active call:
- Press the Transfer softkey. The caller is automatically placed on hold.
- Next, enter *55, and follow the audio prompts to complete the transfer.
E. Three-Way Calls
- During an active call, select Add. The call is placed on hold.
- Dial a second number using the dialpad or choose a contact.
- Select Merge Calls to initiate the conference call.
F. Do Not Disturb
- To enable Do Not Disturb, select DND. To disable, select DND again.
G. Call Forwarding
- To enable call forwarding:
- Press Forward from the Home or Lines view.
- Select the forwarding type to enable, enter the number, and press Enable.
- To disable call forwarding:
- Press Forward from the Home or Lines view.
- Select the forwarding type to disable, and then press Disable.
H. Call Park
- During an active call, press Hold and dial *68 plus the extension of where you want to park the call.
Retrieving Parked Calls
To retrieve a parked call from where it is parked:
- Press and hold the line key with the parked call. The Park Info soft key will display.
- Press the Park Info soft key.
- Press Retrieve.
To retrieve a parked call from another line:
- Press New Call and dial *88 plus the extension the call was parked on.
I. Call History
To view call history:
- Tap the History softkey.
- Use the Navigation Arrows to choose from All Calls, Missed Calls, Placed Calls, Received Calls, or Forwarded Calls.
- When finished, tap the Back key to go back to the home screen.
J. Voicemail
Setting Up Your Voicemail
To set up your Voicemail for the first time:
- Press the Messages key.
- Enter your default password and then the Pound (#) key.
- Enter your new passcode followed by the Pound (#) key.
- Confirm your new passcode, once again followed by the Pound (#) key.
- Record your name when prompted.
Accessing Voicemail
- Go to Messages.
- Select Message Center. If you have multiple lines on your phone, select a line.
- From the Messages screen, select Connect and follow the prompt to access your messages.
